Christ Lutheran Church

A beautiful wedding is a tribute to the love it Celebrates. Whether you are planning a large wedding and elaborate ceremony or a small intimate service, you want it to be perfect in every detail. We want to make your wedding here at Christ Lutheran a joyful and memorable event.

Christ Lutheran offers a 400 seat church, surrounded by our beautiful stained glass windows The window behind the altar is back lighted during evening services adding to a beautiful wedding. Our nursery is used by the bridal party for dressing and has an adjacent ladies restroom. A wedding hostess will be at your rehearsal, and at the wedding, to see that all the details are taken care of.  

A reception hall is also available with  meal seating for 125 guests. You may decorate the hall and there is a kitchen where food can be kept warm or cold as needed. More information

Arrangements

Consult the church secretary (870-1421) as to the dates for your wedding and the rehearsal times. Due to our 5:30 pm worship service on Saturdays no wedding will be scheduled between the hours of 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm on Saturday. A $100 deposit is required to reserve your dates and is non-refundable. This deposit will be applied to your fees and will register your wedding by placing it on our calendar. No weddings are booked until this deposit is paid. If a postponement occurs the deposit will be applied to the new date.

Wedding bulletins can be printed for your service. Check with the church secretary at least four weeks prior to the wedding for your choice of bulletin cover. 

Music, whether traditional or uniquely yours, helps set the mood for celebrating God's gift of your marriage. When you contact the organist, they will be happy to discuss the choice of organ, instrumental, and vocal music to be used at your wedding. ( The "Wedding March" by Wagner is not allowed - "Here Comes the Bride") A List of suggested music is provided.

Contact the wedding hostess at Christ Lutheran to confirm you rehearsal time and to make any special arrangements regarding your wedding, and to answer any questions you may have. Outside consultants are subject to our policies and must work under the direction of our wedding hostess.

You must schedule an appointment with the Pastor for pre-marriage interviews.

Wedding Policies

 The church wedding is considered a sacred worship service, and in keeping with this spirit, no flash pictures are to be taken during the service. Photographs may be taken from the back of the church during the service provided no flash is used. Video taping is permitted provided the videographer does not obscure the view of guests, become a distraction or use additional lighting. Pictures, including flash pictures,  may be taken in the church before and after the service. If before, let the office and wedding hostess know.

Your marriage license must be delivered to the church office no later than two days before your wedding, and the balance of all fees must be paid at this time also. For more information on marriage licenses click below

Flower girls may throw fresh or silk flower petals. Potpourri is not permitted.

Candelabras (two 7-candle inverted V's and a 15-candle arch) are available for rent from the Altar Guild. You will need to supply 31 tapered, 10" - 14" candles include two extra in case of breakage, in your choice of colors. Please bring the candles unwrapped on the night of your rehearsal. The fee for renting one or all three candelabras is $20.00.

The Church has two fresh flower bouquets of altar flowers made for our services which you can rent with your colors for an additional $30.00 fee. These flowers are to remain at the Church. Contact the wedding coordinator if you are interested.

You may decorate the church for the wedding. Decorations must be taken down immediately following the service. For those wishing to use an isle runner, the sanctuary's isle length is 51 feet, 4 inches. These can usually be obtained from your florist.

Bridal parties are requested to be prompt in attendance at the wedding rehearsal. If parents will attend the wedding, it is desirable that they also be present at the rehearsal. The nursery is available for dressing, however, please be very careful with straight pins and other accessories as small children play in this area. (rehearsals are scheduled for 1 hour, should your rehearsal necessitate additional time due to lateness, unusual music requests, etc. additional fees will be collected. Amount of additional fees subject to additional time required. These fees apply to Pastor, hostess, organist, and sound tech.)

It is customary to have your receiving line at the reception, not the church.

Careful use of and respect for this building is important as it is a house dedicated to God. Please be sure your guests act accordingly.

Drinking and smoking is not permitted in the church!

Reception Policies

Reception facilities (Social Hall) for 125 persons are available.

There is a cleaning and breakage deposit of $300.00 due at time of rental. This is refundable if the Social Hall is left in the same condition as when rented. NO BEER, HARD LIQUOR, RED PUNCH OR SMOKING IS PERMITTED. PLEASE ADVISE GUESTS OF THIS POLICY. Wine and champagne is permitted.  Smoking is permitted outside provided guests use the cigarette receptacles for discarding butts and matches. Additional rules are available from the office. If policies and rules are not abided by the hostesses will take the proper action needed to correct it. Check with the church secretary for available dates.. 

You may decorate the social hall for receptions. Decorations must be taken down immediately following the reception. The janitor will set up and take down tables and chairs and vacuum.

Please provide the church office with a list of food being served and any special directions or punch recipes needed by the hostess.
